Meet the Team: Tom Testers

Commitment, flexibility and teamwork are some of the qualities of our crew. Unlimited Productions offers the creative and technical expertise to make your event memorable and effective. Because you might not know all the faces behind Unlimited Productions, we’d like to introduce the team to you, one by one.

Next up: Tom Testers

Hi! Who are you and what’s your role?
Hi! My name is Tom Testers, 26 years old and I live in Breda. In May 2022 I started as Production Manager at Unlimited Productions.

How did you end up working with Unlimited Productions?
The last couple of years I experienced different aspects of the event industry, mostly artist related. In the beginning of 2022 it was time for a switch and I started to ask myself which aspect of the industry I liked the most. Turned-out: building truss constructions, placing lights & connecting speakers gave me the most satisfaction so I went for it! Despite my basic knowledge (compared with experienced colleagues), the Unlimited Productions team gave me the opportunity to develop myself in all associated technical aspects. That’s how I ended up working with this great company and I haven’t regretted it for a second!

Can you tell us a bit about your day?
Once the Project Manager of the associated project has established a budget and a timeline, I will prepare and execute the technical production within these frameworks. Lucky enough, no day is the same! When I’m at the office or when I work at home, the day mainly consists of making technical drawings, communicating with suppliers and/or clients, making plans & having meetings with my lovely colleagues. When the execution period of the project has started, I’m on site to keep the overview on the planning, communicate with our client and coordinate our suppliers.

What makes working for Unlimited Productions great?
First of all, the atmosphere within the company! In my opinion, colleagues play an important role in the enjoyment of your work. I can laugh with my colleagues but I also learn a lot, every day. They all have a different speciality and they are all very helpful. Besides the atmosphere I appreciate the variety of projects and therefore the variety within the job. To translate an idea/sketch into reality and see for yourself how it comes to life on site, is really satisfying!

What makes Unlimited Productions different from other technical production companies?
We want to (and we will) achieve the best quality in everything we do; from our internal efficiency, such as the systems we use to drawings and the final results.

What has been your favorite Unlimited Production so far?
Since I have only been working for Unlimited Productions for less than a year, it’s not a very big portfolio with events I produced from beginning to end. But on the other hand I will co-produce many great events in 2023, starting with a great high-end event in Seoul!

What do you do in your free time?
It hasn’t been a weekend without football! I love to play soccer myself and I enjoy watching it as well. Having some drinks with friends and/or playing games is also never a waste of time. Finally, I appreciate music; both during a concert and on my own DJ gear.

What inspires you?
When people work with a lot of dedication and enthusiasm and are able to help others get there too!

What is one word that you would use to describe your team (or our company)?
Dedicated!

What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Tosti Pindakaas

What’s the most memorable event you’ve ever been to and why?
Defqon.1 2019. I was able to witness this massive event behind the scenes during my internship. The high-end show elements within the story-telling theme are amazing.

If you could choose any show or production, what would be the one you would like to work on?
That would be a world tour with the greatest bands on earth, like U2 or Coldplay.

Please come up with a question for your colleague that we will interview next.
Which work activities make you feel like time flies? And no, not because time is running out, but because you like it 😉
