Next up: Sem Elitas

Hi! Who are you and what’s your role?

I am Sem, 40 years old, and residing in beautiful Belgium. My role at Unlimited Productions is that of a project manager/production manager. Together with my fantastic colleagues, I ensure that everything runs smoothly, especially in the realm of technical production.

How did you end up working at Unlimited Productions?

I initially handled audio for Tiësto, while Bart Roelen was in charge of technical production. Eventually, Bart asked if I could assist him in technical production, and that’s how I got involved in the adventure of Unlimited Productions.

Can you tell us a bit about your day?

I am primarily involved in working on the technical production for various events, such as festivals, touring, and corporate events. In addition, my daily tasks include email correspondence, networking, and maintaining contact with suppliers and clients.

What makes working for Unlimited Productions great?

Definitely the knowledge and the people. The atmosphere is very good, and that makes the work especially enjoyable.

What makes Unlimited Productions different from other technical production companies?

At Unlimited Productions, it’s about maximum quality, not quantity. We always strive for the best result rather than the largest quantity. It’s truly about delivering top quality in everything we do.

What has been your favorite Unlimited Production so far?

It’s difficult to choose, but if I have to pick one, I’d go with the Radical Redemption show at the Sieraad in Amsterdam on October 28, 2023, organized for our client 4PM. It was a special experience to combine a symphonic orchestra with Radical Redemption’s music. As a project manager and responsible for the technical production, I was closely involved in the entire process. From a technical standpoint, it was challenging, especially due to limitations at the venue and the space occupied by the orchestra. But thanks to the amazing team, we pulled it off. I’m very grateful for their dedication because without them, it wouldn’t have been possible.

What do you do in your free time?

Free time is rare, but when I have a moment for myself, I enjoy taking walks in beautiful Limburg and love cooking. But honestly, working feels like a hobby to me.

What inspires you?

Colleagues around me, like the team, who have built something and come so far. Their stories and achievements inspire me to keep developing myself.

What is one word that you would use to describe your team (or our company)?

Professional and warm-hearted, with a hefty dose of assertiveness.

What makes your heart beat a little faster, what makes you jump out of bed in the morning?

Work is truly my biggest motivator. Also, traveling and discovering new places energize me.

What’s the most memorable event you’ve ever been to and why?

That would be the Lokerse Feesten. I started working there many years ago. I began gaining work experience there, starting with building the festival Audio and lights setup in the first year. Every year, I could take a step further in my development, such as becoming the FOH audio operator for the Redbull stage and taking on a supervisory role. Ultimately, last year, I stood on stage with Tiësto as the closing act. Since then, the circle is complete.

If you could choose any show or production, what would be the one you would like to work on?

A large corporate event would be fantastic. Always seeking new challenges and a good dose of pressure to bring out the best.

Please come up with a question for your colleague that we will interview next.
